The Secret of monkey island project
The ongoing work involves the classic The Secret of Monkey Island. We are converting the complete game for the Commodore 64. My task in this project is to bring all the graphics to the screen on the Commodore 64 platform. This is a large task involving a meticulous process of hand-drawing each background, as well as the animations and characters.
To be released sometime in the future. In the meantime, I will continue posting new artwork here.
The pixel art and animations are made by Joachim Ljunggren/Pixeldust.
The game is coded by Andreas Larsson.
Development Status of the game
The game is now fully playable from start to finish, with no known bugs.
All rooms have been completed, each one hand-pixeled with careful attention to detail. All room animations are also finished.
All interactive objects have been pixeled except for the large door that reveals the parrot at Meathook’s residence.

Remaining Tasks
Complete the animation editor system so character pixel art production can begin.
Create the music.
Create the music.
Gameplay from some famous scenes. The game is not finished so things will be polished and further refined in the future.
The Monkey Island room editor
Enables pixeling and animations of objects (and soon characters too).
The pixel editor tool in masking mode
And a normal pixel mode. The Voodoo Lady’s room will be slightly enhanced in this version, filling out the sides more than in the original.
